Joint Robotics, Autonomous Systems, and Artificial Intelligence (RAS-AI) Demonstration

In late January 2022, Skyborne held a joint demonstration day for industry, with Cyborg Dynamics, BIA5 and Athena AI.

In the presence of a hundred attendees, including delegates from the Australian Army, RAAF, Navy, DSTG, TAS DCRC, and our local Federal MP Ross Vasta , the companies jointly celebrated and demonstrated their achievements.

Dr. Michael Creagh, CEO of Skyborne Technologies said:

"The annual RAS-AI demonstrations by this Queensland consortium are all about cutting through the glossy marketing materials, and demonstrating the true state of the art for our systems. Everyone always looks forward to the engagement with the visitors and we are very pleased with the turnout this year."

Mr. Adrian Dudok, CBO of Skyborne Technologies said:

“Besides local Defence tradeshow, hosting an industry-led demonstrations event allows the RAS-AI consortium to showcase the latest technology advancement within the Defence RAS-AI to key stakeholders, including Defence personnel, Government, suppliers and other Defence industry partners. ‘Robotics, Autonomous Systems and Artificial Intelligence’ was recently added to the Sovereign Industrial Capability Priorities list and the RAS-AI consortium is proud to be a part of the journey to delivering the best capability to our warfighters.

Skyborne’s proprietary Cerberus UAV and controllers were exhibited, allowing potential end users to examine the underlying machinery as well as software UI.

Also on display was Skyborne’s latest product, the Gannet Glide Drone. Accompanying the Gannet Glide Drone was a flight simulation, which simulated the Gannet Glide Drone’s manual flight mode.

The live demonstrations on the day included a joint airborne and ground dismounted RAS-AI scenario, where Skyborne’s Cerberuses conducted ISR and conducted aerial support for Cyborg and BIA5’s UGV units, as they conducted their scenario. Athena AI was also run locally for target detection and machine vision. Skyborne also demonstrated live, ground firing of its Cerberus units, with both the 40mm HAVOC grenade launcher, and the CHAOS 12 GA shotgun payloads.

The companies would like to thank everyone for attending, and look forward to further demonstrating its capabilities in the near future as we evolve.
